In the end – it came down to just inches – but that was after an hour of enthralling play at Ballyadam last evening. In their first knockout Cup match, our Under-12 girls were pitted against Corkbeg in what was to be a gripping match

Carrigtwohill took the lead mid-way through the first half, but Corkbeg piled on the pressure in the second half and deservedly scored the equaliser and took the make straight to penalties.

It was a high quality high tempo match with both sides having chances to win and lose the match and credit to all the girls who continued to battle right to the end.

After 9 penalites, the score stood at 2-2 and the final penalty hit the crossbar but rebounded across the line before bouncing out to safety – just enough to give Corkbeg the win to equal amounts of jubilation and despair

Good luck to Corkbeg in the next round and well done to our girls especially Sadie who put in a superb performance in goals
