After tight draws in their opening 2 matches, the girls were hoping to find a cutting edge today and translate their good performances into points.

The back 3 of Rolina, Kalina and Molly were solid throughout the whole match and combined well with a midfield of Kayla, Emilia, Phoebe and Allie who closed the Innishvilla side which looked dangerous anytime they got ball in space.

The first 20 minutes was all Carrigtwohill and it was no surprise that Lauren scored the first goal. Lucy and Hanna playing upfront were a constant threat and it seemed the second goal would come soon.
To be fair, Innishvilla upped their game and they had a few chances coming up to half time including a dangerous in-direct free inside the Carrigtwohill penalty area. This really tested our super keeper Sadie, but she was able to organise the wall and organise the defence to snuff out the danger !

Half-time was a chance for Carrigtwohill to reset and re-organise and they went back out and put in their best 30 minutes of the season. With Sofia now playing as our midfield maestro, she took possession of the ball at the halfway line, went on a mazy run shrugging off two defenders before finishing into the bottom corner of the net – Magic !
Lauren settled the match with another neat finish but there were scares at the other end which were well handled by Eliza in goals. The 3-1 result was a fair reflection of the match.

Superb performances from everyone especially our captain for the day Rolina whose clearances and distribution were excellent all day.
