This Saturday the lads had their first home league game against Innisvilla and they were eager to make up for going out of the cup last weekend.
We started brightly and had an early chance that was saved well. The resulting corner was half cleared to the edge of the box where Noah Eddins produced a spectacular bicycle kick into the roof of the net, a sublime goal. The boys were playing well and were unlucky not to score again when Niall Barry struck the bar. Innisvilla to their credit were dangerous on the break and drew level on 18 minutes. The lads weren’t knocked back and kept playing their football and creating chances one which was converted by Jerry O’Sullivan on 32 minutes, two minutes later, Adam McCarty finished first time from the edge of the box to put us 3-1 up at halftime
The second half continued in the same pattern with the lads pushing forward and Innisvilla trying to hit us on the break. The back four stood firm with Rian Casey doing some super organizing to keep us solid. Noah grabbed his second of the game after some great work from Niall to win the ball and a neat assist from Charlie Cambridge. On 85 minutes Darragh Thornton got on the scoresheet direct from a free kick to round off a good afternoon for the lads.
Today was a great result and well deserved that came about from hard work from all 16 of the boys on the day. Special mention must go to Noah Eddins for his spectacular strike to put us in front and player of the match goes to Jerry O’Sullivan for his hard work and all action display in midfield, well done lads
