Leeside A - 1
Leeside A - 1
Report:
A game the lads will come away wondering how we lost that.
On a lovely playing surface up in Leeside, Carrigtwohill struggled to get a foothold in the game for the first 20 minutes but after that really dominated the rest of the half.
Some slick play on the right wing from Jack ó Keeffe released Mal Kelleher who took on his man and his shot whistled passed the post with the keeper stranded.
Moments later some lovely play through the middle from Sam Collins released Alex Motriuk on the left who's pass to Ryan Moore was exquisite and Ryan's shot was well saved by the goalkeeper. HT
Carrigtwohill started the 2nd half with ferocious intensity with Sam and Tristan Ó Donovan snapping into tackles in midfield which in turn created, chances for the team.
Firstly, a lovely ball from Charlie Cronin into the feet of Ryan who turned the full back inside out and played a great ball across the 6 yard box and somehow the goalkeeper saved from point blank range from Jack.
The resulting corner was swung in from Ryan Collins and Sam from about 10 yards out hit it high and over with the goal at his mercy.
Carrigtwohill were soon behind when a ball cleared from the opposition deflected of the back of the head of a Carrig player into the path of the striker who made no mistake 1- 0.
Carrig were nearly level moments later when an unbelievable run from Ryan Moore beat 2 defenders and with the keeper to beat, shot straight at him, the run alone deserved a goal.
The ball was in the net with 5 minutes to go from Aaron Sheehan who was immense at the back all day but the referee blew for a very close offside.
Jack ó Keeffe, Ryan Moore, Aaron Sheehan and Sam Collins best for Carrigtwohill and man of the match Charlie Cronin who was rock solid alongside Aaron in the centre of the defence.
