Carrigtwohill United - 3
Innisvilla - 0

Carrigtwohill go top of the league with another impressive 3-0 win over Innisvilla on Sunday afternoon.

We started the game well and were by far the better team in the early exchanges. A lovely through ball By Conor Nolan found Maquel but he just fired over, Carrig were pouring it on and further shots from Sean Barry and Pòl were just wide. Surely only a matter of time, a monster throw by Callum Byrne and the clearance only found Pòl who neatly finished into the bottom corner. A deserved lead after 15 mins. For some reason we seemed to lose our way after the goal and they started to have more of the ball, on 32 mins a powerful strike by their full back produced a sublime save from Konrad who tipped it on to the crossbar. He was called into action again from the resulting corner but got a strong fist to clear it away. 1 up at the break.

We said at half time to the lads we need to get back playing like we were in the first 20 mins and get that all important 2nd goal. They didn't disappoint and started playing excellent football in the 2nd half on 55mins were rewarded a Pen after Super play in midfield by Matti and Alex found Pòl who darted into the box and taken down, easy decision for the ref. Pòl dusted himself down and sloted home to complete his brace. Our 3rd wasn't long after when excellent work from Cathal Doyle to win a corner taken by Sean Barry found Garry Og's  head who finished well to make it 3.

Another impressive performance by the whole squad with big shouts on Sunday for Cillian, Callum, Konrad and Alex but our MOTM goes to Pòl O Connor for his endless effort all afternoon and his all-important 2 goals. We have now played 6 games, with 4 clean sheets and only conceded 3 goals, this is down to our Keeper and well organised and solid defence. Our midfield and wingers are powerful and creating chance after chance and with good options up top we are now a force to be reckoned with in this division.

Carrigtwohill Scorers: Pòl with 2 and Garry Og Player of the Match: Pol O’Connor
