Inch United – 2
Carrigtwohill United – 2
Carrigtwohill United – 2
(Carrigtwohill win 2-7 aet)
Every week has given the boys a different test since the start of the season and this morning was no different.
Kai opened the scoring for Carrigtwohill early on with a great team goal which started from our keeper for the day, Rian Kennedy. We weren’t ahead for long when Inch levelled. We went in level but could’ve been ahead as Zayd hit the post with a great effort.
In the second half, we kept working hard and Cormac was very unlucky not to put us ahead after a great strike which struck the post. Darragh Sullivan had a fantastic game in midfield continuously helping us to start attacks and get the ball from back to front. Fionn and Albert provided great energy on the wings to create numerous goal scoring opportunities. Eventually, Zayd got his goal midway into the second half from a corner to put us ahead again, but the game wasn’t finished there.
The game was level in added time of normal time after a great finish from Inch. This was a typical cup tie with lots of drama and it didn’t stop there.
We started the first half of extra time with great attitude and Zayd put us ahead again with a great striker’s finish. He got his hat trick to put us 4-2 ahead. Our back 4 of Dara, Eoin, Luke and Thomas played a key role in keeping us playing in the oppositions half and Sam got a great goal to put us 5-2 ahead at half time of extra time.
We finished out the game with two more good goals from Kai and a penalty from Aaron to send us into the next round of the cup.
