Corkbeg - 1
Carrigtwohill Utd - 2

Great allround performance secures the points.

After  more than a month without a league game we finally got the opportunity to wash away the sour taste of defeat in our previous.

With an early start and a somewhat depleted squad we got going against a tough Corkbeg team. The opening minutes you could see both teams were testing the waters but our lads soon got there foot on the ball and started playing some nice football with nice combination down the right with Ryan Collins and Pranav Satishkumar.

Our two centerbacks Charlie Cronin and Aaron Sheehan were giving nothing away and got our build up started with some precision passing out from the back.
After a few testing shots from Tristan ODonovan we finally got our deserved goal. A nice through ball for Malachy Kelleher who floated past his opponent with his pace and hit a lovely ball across into the six yard box where Ryan Moore was waiting to score a poachers goal.

This got Corkbeg pushing on the front font some more. Our defence held firm until a defence  splitting pass got through and a lucky ricochet got the score back to 1-1. Where in the past this may have dropped the heads this team is now all about not giving up.

From the kick off we were straight back pushing to regain our lead. Sam Collins had a shot that tested the keeper but it wasn't long before Pranav crossed from the right into Darragh Leahys feet who turned and rifled a shot into the bottom left corner.

Second half. We knew the home side would throw everything at us. But our defence was resolute. Evan Tovey was giving nothing away in left back with some hearty challenges that left the opposition right winger shuddering.
Aaron who has grown into his centerback role was calm and took there best player out of the game and every other player they tried to throw at us.
Zaid came on second half and proved a constant threat of the left. Tormenting their defence with marauding runs.
The game was fully in control. Carrig created plenty opportunities with some lovely one two passing across the pitch to put it to bed, but we couldn't get that third goal.
It got a little nervous near the end but Aaron, Charlie, Evan and an in confidence growing Fionn Barry held firm with incredible blocks and crunching tackles. Which left our brilliant keeper Christopher O'Reilly, who was calm and secure all game,  to only pull off a great save from a last minute free kick.

The attitude and work rate today were second to none and left the management team happy and looking forward towards the upcoming games

Man of the match: Aaron Sheehan
