This was just as exciting a match as the score suggests but unfortunately, yet another single goal defeat in what is a very tight division.
Carrigtwohill played with Sadie and Lucy a half each in goals and a back line of Kayla, Kalina, Molly and Hanna and a midfield of Eliza, Rolina, Sofia, Allie and Emilia and a Phoebe and Lauren threatening up front.

Each opposition poses a different threat, and the visitors were exceptionally strong on the transition and scored 3 quick goals on the break in the opening quarter of the match before Carrigtwohill adapted and started to play their own football.
From here, the home side dominated possession and chances and goals from Phoebe and Lauren brought Carrigtwohill right back into the game. However, as can often happen, with the home side pressing for the equaliser, they were caught with another break-away goal to make it 4-2

Again, Carrigtwohill piled on the pressure and Lauren scored a wonder goal from a free kick into the top corner of the net to setup a gripping final 10 minutes where the Los Zarcos goal was under siege. However, despite some near chances, they held out for the victory
This match was played in atrocious weather, as a downpour made it difficult to play at times and the pitch became heavy and sticky. Great credit to both sets of teams for serving up such a quality exciting match.
