We started the game with confidence and on 5 mins won a corner, whipped in by Conor Nolan and found Maquel’s head but we'll saved. 2 mins later great work by Callum Byrne and Cathal Doyle down the wing produced 2 efforts on goal by Maquel and Sean Barry but both were well blocked. They were trying a lot of long balls but Cillian McCann and Hugh dealt with everything in the air. Our best move off the half came after 32 mins when great play from Hugh Crowley, Sean Barry found Dan Guiney who beat 2 players, but his shot was just over. Then our best chance of the half when brilliant play by Pòl when delivered a peach of a ball into Cathal who just couldn't get there for a tap in at the back post. They did produce a chance just before the break, but Konrad made a brilliant save. 0-0 at the break.
Early chance in the 2nd half when Maquel found Matti only to have his shot well blocked, Carrigtwohill were now in complete control of the game and our wingers Conor and Maquel creating more chances, Dan and Pol had further efforts, but both went just wide. 8 mins to go and we thought it wasn't going to be our day but good work from Enda O Donnell found Matti and he played a lovely ball to Maquell who placed the ball in the right Corner. A well-deserved lead. They did push hard for the last few mins but excellent tackles from Cillian and Callum kept them out. Jacub, and Owen came on and played their part with Owen unlucky not to get on the score sheet.
Overall, a satisfactory result without being at our best, but another 3 points and another clean sheet.
MOTM today was Maquel, he was brilliant on the wing and with the all-important goal.
