Report:

Early Sunday morning start away to our neighbouring Midleton. 

The game started off with pace and intensity that carried through from start to finish. 

Lots of fight on the pitch between all the players. Equally wanting to take home the 3 points. 

A break in the 23min saw Tom Aherne through on goal but taken down in the box. The ref pointing to the spot left the players with a mixture of nerves and excitement. 

There was no doubt about it. Tom with a beautiful left leg shot into the path of the keeper who dived too late. The back of the net rattled causing celebration for Carrig. 

Midleton responding immediately after with pressure on every ball and slotted away a goal in the 27min. 

The second half was much of the same. Battles at every corner of the pitch. 

Carrig being awarded another free after Rayane Bouhdoud was taken down ahead an obvious goal scoring opportunity. 

Great free taken by Maurice o Connor but quickly collected by the goalie. 

Every player fought to the end but it was evenly matched for the last 10 mins and the match ended in a 1-1 draw. 

Thanks to Midleton for a greatly competitive game. Best of luck in the rest of the season.
