Everton - 2
Report:
Carrig were taking on Everton at home on Thursday evening in wet & dicey conditions in a game that they needed to win to move 3 points ahead & top of the table ! Everton were going to be up against it as Carrig are especially proud at home & unbeaten in Ballyadam this season.
The game started with a surprise as Everton had 2 goal chances within the first 2 or 3 mins (poxy enough chances to be fair). With no fear & as usual Carrig responded instantly, ramping up the pressure on Everton, hounding them for everyball & putting in strong clean tackles & began passing fluently.
8 mins Callum Foley played a nice pass to Liam who struck a quality shot outside the box but was saved.
9 mins Callum Foley won a corner kick by pressuring Everton in their own half....! Ben made another top notch corner kick that was met by Tundae who casually sent the ball home. 1-0
18 mins Carrigs passing was outstanding, Liam, Rob , Evan & Gary linked up to set Tundae up for his 2nd classy goal. 2-0
20 mins Jack - great save - rock solid keeping!
27mins- Tundae hit crossbar after sustained Carrig pressure
29 mins Everton Goal- 2-1. Carrig indecisive in clearing the ball
40 mins Nice build up but a brilliant goal by Liam who was tough as nails as usual 3-1
49 mins Callum F pure quality pass to Tundae who sent it just wide.
65 mins Kyle made a clearance off the line to save definite Everton goal
73 mins Rian outpaced & dribbled passed two Everton opponents, picked his spot & cooly slotted it home . 4-1
77 mins Carrig possibly feeling the game was over before it was possibly switched off allowing Everton to score their 2nd. 4-2.
Jack, Darragh, Luke, Kai, Callum all played brilliantly & showed the camaraderie, strength & depth of this team.
