It was the long trip down to Mitchelstown for our lads on Friday evening.
On a night where we were a few bodies short, the lads were asked to play in unfamiliar places, but they played excellent football throughout. The first half was a tight affair, but we went in 2-0 down at the break. We had many corners in the half, but the ball wouldn’t fall for us to give us any opportunity.
The game in the second half opened up and it wasn’t to be for our lads with tired bodies. Nonetheless, the boys never stopped playing and they were a credit to the club. This attitude alone will give them a great chance to make this season a successful one. We finished off the night with a great free kick from Zayd and a goal from Fionn assisted by brilliant work from Shaun. Shaun was fantastic when he came on, coming up to help us from the under 12’s.
Not our night but we will go again Monday night with another long trip to Bandon.
