Carrig arrived in Ballyduff this morning to take on 3rd placed Churchvilla (CV) in another big match & they did not disappoint!
Starting with Jack who had another outstanding game, busier than normal he made some excellent saves but it was his reading of the game today that helped give Carrig an edge over their opposition. Jack made several runs from his line to collect the ball just inside the box cutting out decent CV chances. His fast kickouts were superb & assisted some Carrig goals.

Alan was powerful in defence & almost scored within 2 mins with a brilliant free kick that hit the crossbar. Darragh was class today, on 43 mins he made a super run down the line & played a pure quality pass that made it easy for Tunde who cooly sent the ball home. 1-0. Just a minute later CV are awarded a penalty after the referee deemed Patrick to have handled the ball inside the box. Harsh call as he had no chance of avoiding it ! CV score there penalty 1-1.
Patrick responded with his usual fearless tackles & almost had a fine assist earlier when he carved out a superior pass to Tunde who sent it just wide. Kyle & Callum F had their hands full but as usual showed their warrior mentality & didn't give CV an inch or second on the ball. Callum O B was brilliant at breaking up CV play, Ben made some excellent quality passes & runs down the wing causing problems for CV. 53 mins Rob who had another fine game sailed a perfect corner kick into the box where Evan met it with a strong & well placed header 2-1.
Rian, Kai & Liam came on & continued to keep the pressure on CV. 72 mins in a goal hungry Tunde who was unbelievable today dribbled past his opponents & left fly sinking the ball to the back of net for his 2nd goal. 3-1. 77 mins Carrig caught off guard CV score 3-2. Carrig keep working & pressuring & were rewarded when Tunde made another supper run & lobbed the CV keeper for his hat trick . 4-2. Carrigs work rate & team spirit pay off !
