Monday night was a cup game for the lads as we travelled to Bandon to play on a tight pitch. The lads started quickly, and we were unlucky not to be 2 ahead early on. The goal went to the home side with their first chance of the game, but Carrig didn’t let this to change the way they played. Darragh Sullivan was fantastic in the midfield, and he was the catalyst to many attacks starting. 

Fionn, our captain for the night worked his socks off up and down the line. Kai worked well to progress the ball forward and the back line of Dara, Thomas, Luke and Aaron protected Eoin in goal who had little to do after the early goal. The equaliser came from Cormac with a classy finish to bring us in level at the break. 

We continued to get in behind Bandon’s defence and it was Zayd that put us ahead early in the second half. It was a calm finish from him and this settled the lads. Sam worked extremely hard in the second half, and he was rewarded with a brace to put us 4-1 ahead. James was calm in defence, and this allowed us to set us a number of attacks. Albert was very unlucky not to make it 5 but the game finished out 4-1 and put us into the next round of the cup.
