Report:
Carrig played another important match against Riverstown on Friday evening. Carrig were obviously eager to go home with 3 points but Riverstown made sure it wasn't easy! From the off Riverstown set up to play defensively & at times had 7 or 8 players behind the ball. Carrig started well though & applied pressure immediately. Rob, Ben & Tunde passing well, making runs & had a few good goal chances between them but were finding it difficult to break past the Riverstown defence. Patrick had an outstanding game making some slick passes around midfield & to his forwards. 

Carrig dominated possession in the first half, Riverstown had a decent chance on the counter attack but Liam who was in top form got back & won the ball just before the Riverstown player had a chance to shoot. Zach was excellent in defence & made a number of runs forward helping to wear down Riverstown. Callum F also pressed forward while keeping the defence solid with Evan, Kyle, Alan & Jack. 

Carrig moved up a gear in the second half desperate to secure the win. Kai, Gary , Callum O B, Rian & Luke instantly making their presence felt. Luke was on fire & had a fantastic shot saved on 53 mins. It took until the 71st minute for Carrig to get their well overdue goal. Luke with a super run layed It off to Gary who with a classy strike sent it home giving the Riverstown keeper no chance.  1-0.

Carrig kept the pressure on right to the end & were unlucky not to have gone home witha few more goals in the bag.
