CONGRATULATIONS to Carrigtwohill United’s Michael “Mikey” Sullivan who this evening was awarded the Cork Schoolboys League U15 Player of the Year at a Gala function of league dignitaries and football elite.
Mikey began his football journey with Carrigtwohill United at just six years old. From an early age, his passion for the game was unmistakable. During the COVID lockdowns, while many others were sidelined, Mikey took the opportunity to work tirelessly on his game — working hard and sharpening his skills.
That hard work and commitment have paid dividends. Having previously captained the Carrigtwohill United U12 team to a league title, Mikey led by example again this season, captaining the U15s to promotion to the Premier Division — only the second time in the club’s history that this milestone has been achieved.
Mikey’s outstanding performances also earned him selection to the U15 Cork Schoolboys League Inter-League squad — a team that went on to be crowned Munster champions.
Carrigtwohill United, the CSL, and all who have had the pleasure of coaching or playing alongside Mikey are proud to see his commitment, talent, and leadership recognised with this award.
Congratulations, Mikey — a shining example of what passion and perseverance can achieve.
