The games keep coming and Monday night was our sixth game in May. It was a cup game for the lads up in Corinthians Park on a quick surface. 

To the lad’s credit, they started strong with Darragh, Luke and Zayd being involved in good passages of play. It was the home side that went ahead after our good start. Zayd had a great chance to level but was unlucky to put it over. Luke had another chance, but the ball wouldn’t sit right to shoot. We were 2-0 down 20 minutes in when Corinthians striker slotted away. Charlie made a great save before half time to keep the score at 2-0. Zayd had another chance before the break, but we went in 2-0 down. Kai and Fionn worked themselves to their limit up and down throughout the first half, 

We went out looking to get back into the game but were 3-0 down early into the second half. We were playing good football after the goal with Aaron beginning to dictate play with quick 2 touch football. Our centre backs, Eoin and James began to win their duels more and James was driving us forward from defence. Finn and Thomas were providing great width and Dara was starting to get around Finn to bring us forward. Cormac wax working well off Zayd and we were getting more joy going forward. Zayd was unlucky with a chance created by James with 10 to go but the sign of a good player is that they persist with hard work, and he was rewarded with his goal with 5 to go. Darragh started the move who got it out to Luke, he played a great ball into Zayd who calmly headed in to make it 3-1. 

We bowed out of the cup, but all attention goes to Thursday night with another big game against Park United. 3 games left after a great season. These lads are a credit to the club, their attitude, determination and relentless effort is admirable, and they will continue to work hard until the end of the season.
