It was another league game for the lads on Saturday after Thursday night’s game. On a wet morning for football, the game was a cagey affair knowing that a win would give us a good chance of promotion. Fionn and Cormac worked hard up and down the wing to help Zayd and Sam up front. Darragh and Luke provided good cover in front of the back 5, Rian in goal, Dara, Eoin, James and Thomas. 

Carrig had a couple of corners in the first half but it wasn’t until 2 minutes before half time when we were ahead. Sam was rewarded for his hard work with a goal after a great finish. We went in 1 up at the break. 

The weather started to dry up and it allowed our lads to get on the ball more. Aaron, Finn and Kai brought new energy but it was Dara who created our second goal. A great through ball sent Sam through, he remained calm and went around the keeper to put it away. Albert was calm on the ball when he came on and allowed us to start a number of attacks from left back. We were 2 up with 10 to go but against the run of play, greenwood got 2 back in the final 10 minutes. 

It wasn’t what the lads deserved but we will go onto Wednesday night hoping for a positive result.
