Saturday morning saw the u12b team travel to Lakewood for a playoff game against Kanturk. Both games during the league saw the teams battle out two 1-1 draws which meant the playoff would be at a neutral venue.
The excitement and tension was building all week and was noticeable at the mid-week training session.
With ideal weather conditions on the morning of the game, the anticipation and enthusiasm in the squad was immense. Carrigtwohill remained focused and knew what needed to be done.

A fast start saw Carrigtwohill go on the attack from kick off, pinning Kanturk back in defence. An onslaught of chances from Carrigtwohill from early in the game set the pace and outlined the dogged determination and the desire from the lads. On the 19th minute, a quick throw in from Conor Board played Harry Cashman into space, Harry with his pace and goal scoring prowess neatly slotted the ball into the net to give Carrigtwohill a 1-0 lead.

The second half started much the same as the first, with Carrigtwohill piling the pressure onto the Kanturk back line. In the 35th minute a through ball from Alex Gibbons played Tom Coyne into space, in typical Tom style he stayed strong, and his run brought him into the box where he neatly powered the ball into Kanturks goal, 2-0 to Carrigtwohill.
From there, the lads continued to pile the pressure onto Kanturk, with time quickly running out on Kanturk they upped the ante however the defence remained strong and kept Kanturk at bay.

During the game each player gave 110 %, both keepers Adam Kiraga and Jack Mehigan remained focused and concentrated despite being very quiet for the game, the defenders of Bobby Power, Cian Kiely, Kieran Cotter and Liam Coyne were impenetrable, midfield of Zach Holland, Harry Cashman, Conor Board, Owen Hunt, Jacob O’Riordan, Alex Gibbons and Killian Morrisey worked tirelessly pus
