Carrig produced a dynamic and determined performance in a thrilling 2-2 draw at home to Everton AFC, full of energy, grit, and late momentum.
Carrig made a blistering start, with four shots in the opening minutes. Sarah Brophy was tenacious in midfield and Bláithín caused constant problems going forward.

Carrig’s wingers tracked back tirelessly to help defensively, and Bláithín had a good chance on 16 minutes. A corner flashed across goal shortly after. A scary moment followed when Bláithín took a ball to the face and had to come off, with Sarah Meighan coming on to continue the momentum.
Everton began to threaten, hitting the crossbar twice and missing a tap-in across the box. Grace showed brilliant reactions to clear after a rebound off the woodwork in the 39th minute. Everton finally levelled on 40 minutes.

At 44 minutes, Everton went ahead (1-2), but just before half-time, Sarah Meighan made it 2-2, finishing well after a superb Rachel free kick delivery. ⚽⚽
In the second half, substitutes Tanya, Ciara, and Laura added fresh legs. The rain made conditions tricky, and Carrig were under pressure for the first 15 minutes, but the defence stood firm.

Laura battled brilliantly, and Everton hit the bar again and pressured hard, but Carrig weathered the storm. In the final 10 minutes, Carrig came roaring back — creating great chances and finishing the stronger of the two teams.
