Report:
On a blustery day in Mallow points were shared in this Division 1 encounter.
In a frantic start to the game, with tackles flying, both teams found it hard to get control, especially in midfield.
Eventually the game settled down and Carrig got into their groove, playing the ball from defence into midfield and out to the wings, some of the passing was breathtaking.
On 15 minutes a neat 1-2 between Ryan Moore and Darragh Leahy led to the 1st shot on target when Darragh’s shot stung the hands of the keeper which resulted in a corner.
From the resulting corner Alex Kadulas bullet header just went over the bar.
On 20 minutes Carrig were 1 up when a beautiful ball found Mal Kelleher on the left who passed the defender with ease before releasing a shot across the keeper into the far corner of the net, excellent finish..0-1
On the 28th min we were level after a wicked deflection looped the ball over the keeper into the net. 1-1
Carrig were really taking the game to the opposition, with some great football, 1st Luke ó Connor released Charlie Cronin down the wing, his ball was met by Darraghs head and the keeper made a fantastic save, out for a corner.
Resulting corner was swung in by Evan Tovey, headed out by the defence but met with a sweet volley from Fionn Barry into the top corner 1-2. HT.
In a very stop start 2nd half Carrigtwohill created chances from Tristan, Mal and Darragh but found the opposition goalkeeper in outstanding form.
Carrigtwohill had 2 goals disallowed, 1 for a coming together from a corner which seemed harsh and the 2nd from an offside which was 50/50.
A break away move from the opposition resulted in Carrig conceding a goal that could of been cleared but wasn't, 2-2.
