The girls were delighted to get their season underway after working hard for pre-season. This was their first competitive match on a full-sized pitch and goals and it does make a big difference.

The girls made a great start testing Springfield at every opportunity and it was EmmaQ who starred operating on the left wing and capped off a superb first half by scoring with a rocket of a shot just before half time.

 

In truth, Carrigtwohill were the better side on the night and had several other chances with Kaitlin coming close on a few occasions but it was the pairing in midfield of Sadie, Kate and EmmaOC in rotation who were providing stability and allowing keeping Springfield in their own half.

 

It was great to pick up 3 points from the first match - Well done to everyone
