Carrigtwohill U12A began their league opener in Div 7 of the SBL to a narrow 1-0 defeat away to Blarney.

 

The first half of the match was limited to few chances from both sides , mainly due to the impressive defence on both sides, with Ryan , Krystian, Isaac, Tom and Dylan holding strong and keeping Julian in goals quite .

Blarney we're marginally the better team in the 1st half but Carrigtwohill’s work rate overall was clear to see and limiting Blarney chances resulting in a half time 0-0 scoreline.

 

Carrigtwohill really ramped up the pressure in the 2nd half , and dominated possession but it was Blarney who broke the deadlock with a long range shot which crept over the line after Julians initial save .

We really pushed on after that and started to move the ball better through midfield with Tom P, Kuba and Rian supplying our wingers Ciarán, Josh , Alonzo and especially Liam who was a constant thorn in the Blarney side .

 

Carrigtwohill continued to push for an equaliser, and with Captain Scott Parker running the lines and great hold up play we seemed to be getting closer .

 

Scott had a few long range shots on target, and maybe a little more composure in and around the box from other chances from the team, we could have deservedly equalised.

 

Unfortunately Blarney held out for the win.

 

Carrigtwohill had some exceptional performances on the day , especially Ryan O Sullivan and Liam Sullivan who were outstanding 👏
