Report:
Off to a positive start in the season.
Having most of the possession in the game the boys showed fight and heart on the field. Our first break came early with a through ball from Ronan Maher who found Tom's feet to go one on one with the goalie. Calmly shot into the net.
Spirits high the boys passed with purpose and wore down the defence. Another opportunity fell before half time with Tom going one on one with the goalie again 2-0.
Second half started with much of the same. Most of the work being done in the midfield. A break from Harry unfortunately ended with a call for offside. David was called upon on a few occasions making needed saves and great calls. A free kick to Mallow ended up in the back of the net 2-1
Solid performance from all in defense especially Maurice O Connor who captained his side on the day.
An aggressive tackle on our goalie somehow ended in a throw to Mallow. Mallow was awarded a second free kick with 2 mins to spare which finished the game 2-2. Lots of positives today which we will take into the next match. We'll take our point today but we're coming back for all 3 points on the return.
