U16 A Division 4 Match Report
After earning promotion last season, today marked the beginning of life at Under-16 Division 4 level away to Watergrasshill. We couldn’t have asked for a better start — just 5 minutes in, JP latched onto a superb through ball from Patrick and showed great pace to sprint clear, and finished calmly to put us ahead.
At times our play really clicked, and we looked fantastic moving the ball with purpose. Naturally, with the first game of the new season, there were also moments where we were a little bit sloppy, but that will improve as we settle in.
One of the biggest positives was getting 16 players on the pitch, each playing at least 25 minutes, which is brilliant for development. Considering we were also missing a few key players, it really highlighted the depth we now have in the squad.
Unfortunately with 6/7 minutes to go we conceded to make the game 1-1 which overall was probably a fair result. Well done to both Oisin and Odhran who both made their competitive debuts today and special mention to Luke in goal who was fantastic and composed throughout and also Callan who was immense at centre back
Plenty to be proud of, and plenty to build on.
