Carrigtwohill United - 3
Leeside A - 4
Report:
Where to start.
After going a goal down within 30 seconds due to poor defending, Carrigtwohill somehow lost a game where they played the best football for large periods.
Carrigtwohill were level on 12 minutes when Malachy Kelleher pressed the defence into a mis placed pass and he nutmegged the defender and shot into the top corner of the net, lovely finish.
Carrigtwohill were dominating all over the pitch, some beautiful football out of defence by Aaron Sheehan released Tristan Ó Donovan in the middle 3rd, his neat footwork fooled the defender and he played a delightful ball to Jack o Keeffe 25 yards from goal, Jack shrugged the defender off before unleashing a rocket from 20 yards into the net, superb strike 1-2.
Darragh Leahy, Mal and Pranav went close to extending the lead but the woodwork and keeper had other ideas.
On the stroke of HT a lapse in concentration on the left gave the opposition a clear run on goal, 2-2 against the run of play.
Moments after the restart Carrig conceded after not dealing with a ball hit high over the top and the striker finished with ease 3-2.
Carrig got back into the groove stroking the ball around on a beautiful pitch, through the lines, 1st Sam Collins split the defence with a pass and Jacks shot drifted just wide of the post.
In the move of the game Darragh Sull, played the ball out to Luke on the wing, Luke gave it to Aaron Sull who gave the ball to Zayd who stuck it into the bottom corner what a goal 3-3.
Kai Holland went close next and his shot hit the outside of the post.
Unfortunately another lapse in concentration at the back with moments left allowed the winger in to score 4-3 FT.
Carrig went into the game missing 5 starters due to a clash with another sport, but the lads who came into the team today were immense and put their hands up to start the next day, to say management are proud of the players who played today is an understatement, unfortunately not the result but unbelievable performance.
Team performance👏
