The second part of the double header against local rivals Leeside was a titanic struggle. The girls headed to Leeside with two good performances behind them but just 1 point earned and eager to get their first win of the season. The match was ultimately decided by 2 key moments both coming mid-way through the second half.

Firstly, the lively Leeside attack broke through and the attacker struck a ferocious shot which was destined to break the back of the net but somehow, Lauren in goal managed to get a touch to it and push it onto the cross bar and it deflected off to safety. It was an amazing save.

Just a couple minutes later, Hanna playing up front got onto the end of a through ball and found herself 1v1 against the keeper. The Carrigtwohill attacker made no mistake and neatly finished into the bottom corner of the net for her second goal in 3 games.

There were some great performances today, with Lilymae, Ruby and Eimaan playing starring roles and yet another majestic performance from Rolina who marshalled the back four and stopped countless attacks.

The last kick of the game belonged to Allie who was first to a loose ball in the penalty box and it was the Carrigtwohill girls who emerged with the points on this occasion.
