Carrig started the game well on Saturday afternoon and took Kilworth by surprise in the first minute of the game !
With their usual fast start Callum O Byrne made a superb long throw-in across the box that was met by Enda O Donnell (Rory Delap would have been proud of this throw)! Enda placed his shot perfectly sending it to the back of the net 1-0 Carrig. Carrig kept the pressure on and 3 mins later Gary Og landed a freekick in the path of Hugh who sent it just over the bar! Enda, Gary Og &, Callum O B were linking up well and created some good chances for Carrig early on while Evan Foley was getting stuck in and made some decent tackles keeping the pressure on around midfield.
9 mins Kyle played a quality pass from defence to reach Enda (who was a handful for Kilworth all day), Enda crossed it to Gary who sent it just over the bar. Game was back and forth with both teams creating chances, Carrig probably creating more.
27 mins Kilworth score after a corner kick was met by a header sending the ball beyond the reach of Jack Gilley. 1-1
On 45 mins Hugh Crowley who was in excellent form scored a nice goal. 2-1.
Second half started slow for Carrig with Kilworth put the pressure on & their efforts were rewarded when Carrig gave away an own goal. 2-2 Kilworth began dominating possession and creating more chances than Carrig who seemed to lapse in concentration.
