Carrigtwohill United - 1
Midleton - 4
Report:
Right from the start the lads put up a hell of a fight. Solid play from the back with exceptional clearances from Ronan Casey on his first spell out of goal at centre back. Noah Mc Carthy clearing balls out the wings to advance our play up the pitch. Anything that got passed was quickly collected or expertly saved by Jack Mehigan. Intensive pressing on the wings from Zach Holland O Mahony and Adam O Neill.
Midleton we're the first on the scoreboard with a great play through midfield and a well taken shot. A second break saw a long range shot just out of reach of the goalie.
Carrigtwohill answered straight back with a lovely play from Midfield. Killian Morrisey with a through ball to Zach on the run. Slotted it clean passed the keeper.
Most of the play was coming against our right wing. Adam doing trojan work between defending and breaking.
Charlie Dalton covering anything that got past to ensure the ball was safely out every time. A quick thinking Adam saw an opportunity for a fast throw up to Killian who fed the ball into Zach again but he was denied.Great midfield work from Tom Coyne and Eoin Ryan who fought for every stray ball. Slowing up Midleton's attacks.
The second half saw alot of pressure early on from midleton. Some great defensive work from Bobby Power, Conor Board and Mattie Downing. Great insight from the goalie Jack to spot Liam Coyne on his own on the left wing.
Ball after ball up that side allowed Liam to show some flare in pressing with intensity feeding in Yoma Chea and Kryspin Kuzawinski who made some brilliant runs.
An injury to the keeper saw our striker Killian take on a new position in goal.
Making some great saves. A penalty with 5 minutes to go gave him the real test and despite getting hand contact on the ball it unfortunately went in.
Utter bravest for this player to put himself in the firing line to help. The attitude and heart of this team never faltered.
We are super proud of the constant effort of everyone on the pitch.
