Carrig got off to a flying start, taking the lead after just 2 minutes when Filip Suslo played a clever ball through the Carrigaline defence. Ronan Finn showed great strength to hold off his marker and finished well to make it 1–0.
Carrigaline responded well and equalised midway through the half with a well-taken goal that brought the game level at 1–1.
Carrigtwohill regained the lead in the 16th minute when Filip Suslo threaded another excellent pass through the defence. This time Jan Szalonik timed his run perfectly and finished calmly to make it 2–1.

Second Half
The second half was a tense and physical battle, with Carrig showing great discipline and teamwork to protect their lead. The midfield worked tirelessly to win possession and drive the team forward, while the forwards continued to stretch the Carrigaline defence.

With ten minutes to go, Carrigaline were awarded a penalty. The first strike was hit high toward the top corner, but the goalkeeper reacted superbly leaping to tip it over the bar with a brilliant save. However, the referee ordered a retake. Under pressure, the Carrigaline player stepped up again—but this time shot the retake over the bar, to the relief of the Carrig supporters.
That moment proved decisive, as Carrigtwohill held firm to secure a well-deserved win.
