Under-12 Kevin Dillon Cup
Sun 21st Sept 2025 at Kinsale

Kinsale B – 1
Carrigtwohill United A – 9

Carrigtwohill U12A team travelled to Kinsale in the first round of the Kevin Dillon Cup on Sunday Afternoon .

After a couple of minutes , Carrigtwohill really found their feet and started to control the game early on with some great composure, awareness and passing on  display. The right hand wing were dominant  from the start with Tom, Ciarán and Krystian really impressing early on . The link up play between these 3 resulted in the first goal, ciarán laying back to Tom who played a beautiful ball through to Scott who finished with ease.

The back line of Tom , Isaac ,Dylan, Kuba and always present Ryan were very hard to pass and were making the central  midfielders roles of Rian and  Krystin a lot easier who were suppling Alonzo , Liam and Ciaran with plenty of ball to run onto and  giving Scott  and Josh plenty of supply up front .
The 2nd goal again came from a through ball from Tom which was handled in the box , and the  resulting penalty converted by Scott.
Kinsale limited in chances , found a lifeline with a penalty which was converted to make it 2-1 and was realistically Olivers only involvement in goals in opening 15 mins.
The 3rd goal came from a  great corner by Scott,  and with Josh pouncing and causing Kinsale to panic  resulting in an O.G.

Carrigs dominance continued with the 4th goal coming from great play by ciarán who crossed to back post , whereby Liam calmly controlled and found the back of the net .
With HT time approaching it was the ever running Liam on the left who weaved in and out before finding Josh who slotted home for a well worked goal.

The 2nd half continued in the same manner,  with Josh scoring 2 more goals,  one in off the post and another from a  through ball by tom with Josh  slotting home  for his well-deserved hat-trick
Any half chances that Kinsale did have , Oliver in goals was on hand either coming of his line quickly or using his dominant back line wisely .
The 8th goal was a beauty from Scott , who whipped in a long range free to top left hand corner to complete his hat trick.
Chances kept on coming for Carrig , with Kuba linking up nicely with wingers and Dylan with a few half chances upfront.
With a dominant scoreline, it allowed the coaches to try players in new roles , Alonzo at right back, Kuba middle and on wing and Rian CB .
It also allowed our keeper Oliver  to venture out field for the final 5 mins with the challenge to find the back of the net which he did with a well taken goal to make it 9-1 at the final whistle
