Report:
Carrig played Kanturk on Saturday morning in an action packed game where Carrig showed off some of their battling qualities that made league champions last season.

In the first 2 mins Liam & Gary both in top form linked up nicely to play the ball forward ahead of Rob who made a perfect run but sent his shot just wide.  Callum O B as usual was superb around midfield & was putting in decent challenges and tackles not letting Kanturk have it easy.
7mins against the run of play Kanturk score their first goal which was one of a few they scored that could be judged as fairly flukey 1-0. 

14 mins Kanturk against the run of a play score again 2-0. 16m mins Carrig respond immediately with Evan slipping the ball to Liam who dribbled past two defenders and from the most awkward of angles left his shot fly scoring a screamer of goal 2-1. Game was back and forth with both teams creating chances, Carrigs defence Callum F, Zach, Kyle and Hugh were busy but playing well while Patrick and Rob both had goal chances but shot them just wide. 

Second half - 49mins Rob scored a superior quality goal a nice run down the line. 2-2. 53mins Kanturk score from a counter attack 3-2. Kanturk begin to dominate possession, 57 min Kanturk Goal 4-2. 61mins Kanturk Goal 5-2. Carrigs passing game improved & they started to dominate possession & create chances with a few players putting shots on target or wide but again against the run of play Kanturk score again 6-2. Callum F wasn’t giving up just yet and dribbled through a few Kanturk players and left fly from outside the box scoring a brilliant individual goal that helped drive on his teammates. 6-3. Just 2 mins later Hugh moving from defence to attack after playing well all day scored another top quality goal 6-4. Carrig battled on with the help of substitutes Darragh, Ben, & Alan who all got stuck in. 87 mins Alan scored an excellent goal. 6-5. Carrig were unlucky at times today but kept fighting until the final whistle !
