Carrigtwohill United - 2
College Corinthians - 3

Report:
We travelled to Corinthians last Sunday to take on one of the favourites to win this year’s 16 Premier division. Although recent results had not gone our way the lads come out of the blocks quickly with excellent play and urgency. We were rewarded mid-way through the first half when the unplayable Nathan drove in to their 18 yard box and the ball breaking to Ciaran who struck an unstoppable shot off the crossbar and in - what a way to introduce yourself!

Our backs, midfielders and forwards were all working tirelessly and limited Corinthians to a few half chances. One nil up at half time.
Corinthians rallied in the second half and a devastating 15 minute period showed why they will have a big say in this league. We conceded three goals and it would then have been easy for the lads to drop their heads but they were having none of it.
We dusted ourselves off and went at them again and were rewarded when Jack Lombard struck from 25 yards to make it a 3-2 game. While this was going on Jamie was keeping a lid on one of the best strikers in Cork who did next to nothing for the afternoon. Our captain Dylan drove the lads on and our defence was on top for the last 15 minutes. Rafa and Josh came on for Ryan and Julian for the closing minutes. We kept going and with two minutes to go were unlucky not to equalise from a corner that was volleyed only to be saved by their keeper.
3-2 result but we will have learned a lot from this and look forward with positivity to the rest of the season.

Carrigtwohill Scorers: Ciaran O Donovan and Jack Lombard
Player of the Match: Nathan Joseph/Jamie O Riordan
