Carrigtwohill United – 1
Everton - 3

The girls faced table toppers Everton at home last weekend after a thrilling win against Leeside on their last outing and they would not disappoint.
In truth, this was a match only decided by moments, of which the visitors were able to capitalise on more than the home side.

Sofia opened the scoring with a neat finish but Everton clawed their way back into the match, firstly with a scrappy goal scored from a corner and the second a wonderful strike from a free kick on the edge of the box. The play was very balanced with chances at both ends but it was the visitors who took the 2-1 lead into half-time

The girls knew they had every chance in this game, and it would have been easy to sit back, but this team continues to improve in every aspect and they put in a gritty performance in the second half. They created 3 clear cut chances and it seemed like only a matter of time before they would equalise but unfortunately it didn’t quite happen for them and it was the Everton striker who converted a long range wonder strike from outside the box to finally settle the game in their favour

Another superb performance from the girls who are surprising themselves as to how well they are playing. Best on the day was Niamh who put in a powerful performance
