Report:
Yet again another solid team performance from the boys. This time making sure of the three points.
Our Captain Ronan winning the toss had us playing with the wind in the first half. Attacking every ball, making great runs for the first 10 mins.
A brilliant corner taken by Yoma reached the back post to an awaiting Adam who volleyed a rocket into the back of the net.
Spirits high the boys chased down some very comprehensive attacks from Kilreen but defence of Charlie, Ronan, Bobby and Brady had it under control. Noah slotting back to help in defence when needed. Some important saves from Sebastian getting control of the ball to deny their striker a chance.
The game lost a bit of momentum towards the call of half time.
A team talk and a few tweaks with fresh legs from Elvis saw the boys take on the second half with amazing fight.
Playing against the wind we thought we would be caught on attacks but the defence played a high line with the addition of Conor and any balls over head were chased down and cleared or left to the goalie to collect.
A ball out from the Jack to Eoin who played Adam on the wing. Adam rounding his defender twice, fed in Jamie who calmly slotted the goal away. Cool as a breeze.
Shortly after a ball through the centre for Kilreen went undefended and they got on the scoresheet.
It was now or never. We needed to dig deep and hold onto our lead or just go for it and that is what the boys did.
Eoin feeding in Noah who crossed a ball back to Kryspin. An extra touch needed as his shot went wide. There was a goal in it for him so he went again.
Yoma this time taking on the midfield, feeding in Kryspin, he was composed and made sure of the goal.
A few more chances from Jamie and Yoma but the wind was denying any long shots. Overall the team performed brilliantly. A lot of positives to take away from today.
