Carrigtwohill United - 1
Ballincollig A - 1

Report:
A great example of never giving up.
A display of equal strengths. The most fast paced game we have played all season. Physical and full of skill.

Rory O Connor taking his spot between the posts was called into action way sooner than we planned with a tackle in the box giving Ballincollig a penalty. Missed opportunity by their striker sending his shot over the bar.

We settled into the game for the next few minutes but when the break came a run by Harry, Olivier and Tom caused the Ballincollig defence a bit of bother. Goalie bravely came out to deny the shot.

Break after break, back and forth from both teams relying heavily on work from our defence line of Rian, Eoin, Sam, Philip, Leo and Maurice.

Finally a breakthrough came after 20 mins with Tom Aherne rounding the goalie and with an almost slow motion roll we held our breaths until the net confirmed the goal. We were on the scoresheet and eager for more.

Ballincollig fought back with some well taken shots but Rory was on top form. There was no doubt when the shots came in. He was calm, strong and made sure of getting his body behind the ball.

A special mention to the two u13 lads that helped us out today. Harry Cashman and Tadhg Kelleher who played their skins off.
Tadhg showing composure and intensity in equal measures and Harry giving absolutely everything. He was very close to adding to the scoreline on more than one occasion.

Unwavering heart from Mikolaj, Thomas, Jake, Jayden and Olivier who played in runs consistently.  Ronan playing a more defensive roll today made some brilliant needed tackles and turning over more attacks than any other player.

With the clock running down we pressed hard and made some needed attempts on goal but the game ended with a respectable 1-1 . Thanks to Ballincollig for a great game of football.

Carrigtwohill Scorers: Tom Aherne
Player of the Match: Rory O Connor
