On Sunday afternoon Carrigtwohill welcomed Wilton for  National Cup game.  Whilst the gap on paper was huge, a premier team (currently top of league) versus a division 3 side, the gap on the field was much narrower than many would have thought.

 

The Carrigtwohill girls bought into the gameplan and fought and harried and once again showed their fighting team spirit.  An unfortunate bobble let Wilton go one ahead after ten minutes but Carrigtwohill produced a magnificent performance and were unlucky to concede again on the stroke of half time. The second half was much of the same with Carrigtwohill trying to break on the counter attack and closing down the opposition swiftly at every opportunity.  Wilton scored two more goals to win 4-0. 

 

Although some girls played in new positions for the day, this is the first match report when individuals have not been named, as it would be unfair to do so when all of the girls put in a great determined performance and never gave up.  It was a proud day for the Management Team and all the Parents on the sideline to see how well they all performed.
