Carrigtwohill made the short trip to Midleton for a cup match on Saturday afternoon.  

 

It was a first match for Aoibhinn and Olivia B, and both showed from their footballing skills that they have much to offer the team as the season progresses. Evelyn started in goal but it was the other end she was unlucky not to score when she had two fine strikes.  Ava, Maci and Isobelle were marshalling the defence well and made numerous tackles at vital moments.  Amelia again showed great reading of the game and a fine mix of tackling combined with longer range passing.  

 

Kaitlin consistently danced around players and was unlucky not to score but also set up some lovely chances.  Olivia C and Lilianna showed good touches and strong running down the wings, with Matylda and Emma showing for the ball and hunting down the opposition and Amelie showing her versatility by filling in a number of positions throughout the match. The scoreline didn't do the Team justice as at 2-0 down Carrigtwohill then dominated the chances and were unfortunate to concede 2 further goals on the break with the final score 4-0.  

 

The Coaches were really happy with seeing how the girls are now showing the confidence to pass the ball around and anticipate the opposition movements, their hard work in training is now coming out in the matches.
