Under-14 Girls National Cup
25 Oct 25 at Ballyadam Park
Carrigtwohill United – 2
Riverstown – 0
Carrigtwohill booked their place in the next round of the National Cup with a strong 2–0 win over Riverstown in Ballyadam.
From the outset, Carrig looked dangerous, creating several early chances through sharp passing and clever movement. Their pressure was rewarded 20 minutes in, when a slick move starting from the back and working through midfield found Molly Dennis on the left flank. Dennis surged forward and whipped in a superb cross, met perfectly by Abbie Rall, who rifled the ball into the roof of the net for a well-deserved opener.
Carrig continued to press but went into halftime leading 1–0.
The second half saw Riverstown come out fighting, applying heavy pressure in search of an equaliser. However, Carrigtwohill’s defence stood firm, marshalled brilliantly by Emma Cashman, who put in a player-of-the-match performance to keep Riverstown at bay.
As Riverstown pushed higher up the pitch, Carrig capitalised on the space left behind. A neat through ball from Isabelle Kingston split the defence, finding Rachel Uyi Irabor, who unselfishly flicked the ball on to Faye O’Leary to calmly slot home Carrig’s second of the day.
The match finished 2–0, a result built on disciplined defending, teamwork, and clinical finishing.
