Carrigtwohill U12A team travelled to Riverstown to play in the 1st round of the Founders Cup on Sunday .

 

Playing Riverstown C team, we were quite aware of the potential  difference in levels based on divisions but from the off the lads treated the game like any other and continued our recent good form from previous games and training .

 

The first half was a dominant display, with Ollie a bystander in goals. 

The breakthrough came from a great corner by Scott with Rian controlling and a fine finish. Again the 2nd was well worked with great play from Dylan on the left playing across the box with Julian finishing .

The 3rd and 4th  were in quick succession , with 2 fine finishes from Josh ,  assisted by Krystian and Isaac

With continued dominance,  we finished the half 0-6, with Scott on the double with two excellent finishes .

 

In all fairness to Riverstown they kept trying there hardest but the difference in divisions told on the day. 

The boys continued to play lovely football,  with some great passing on display at times.

The 7th and 8th came from two assists from Rian , with Kuba slotting home both times .

Carrigtwohill finished the game with another two fine goals , firstly with Tom P suppling Ciaran who crossed to find Dylan who made it 9-0

With the last play of the game , Alonzo made his way into the box to finish bottom corner .

A great display from all against a spirited Riverstown team.
