Midleton Magpies – 0
Carrigtwohill United A – 1
Carrigtwohill edged out Midleton 1–0 in a lively, end-to-end contest in Knockgriffin sealed by a brilliant strike from Isabelle. The game never dipped in energy, and Carrig set the tone early, dominating the opening stages before Midleton settled and grew into the match.
Captain Rolina and Kalina were rock solid at the back, organising everything and keeping things calm whenever Midleton tried to break through. Behind them, Ailish delivered a standout performance in goal, earning player of the match with a series of sharp interventions. Her sweeping work outside the box kept Carrig on the front foot, and her fingertip stop just before halftime drew cheers from both sets of supporters.
Carrig continued to push after the break. With Midleton chasing an equaliser late on, Carrig nearly doubled their lead when Allie latched onto a clever through ball from Emi, only to be denied by the post. Midleton rallied in the final minutes and threatened to level, but Rolina came flying in with a last-ditch challenge that preserved the win.
Hanna impressed at right back with a composed display, while Lill-May caused problems out wide throughout the match.
A hard-fought win, a cracking goal, and plenty of character from Carrigtwohill from the first whistle to the last.
