Bandon FC – 1
Carrigtwohill United – 0
Carrigtwohill put in their strongest team performance of the season and the final score was not reflective of the heart, effort and work all the girls put into the game.
Ava, Amelie and Grace ensured the defence were strong and dominant throughout, with the superb Sofia driving into every tackle and putting real length and precision on her clearances. Carrigtwohill were unfortunate to concede after fifteen minutes and despite Lucy only getting to see the ball at the last second she made a great diving attempt to try and keep the ball out. Amelia and Jessica were controlling and protecting the middle of the park.
The second half saw Carrigtwohill being the dominant team, led with Evelyn patrolling her box and keeping a clean sheet. Lucy was strong down one wing and delivered some great Crosses notably some from corners. Kaitlin continuously danced down the wing with ease and it was brilliant for the team to have Saoirse back up front making constant darting moves and she was unlucky one strike crept the wrong side of the post.
As Carrigtwohill pushed forward trying to score both Olivia and Aoibhinn made fine dominant tackles at the edge of our box and laid the ball off to allow us attack again. Carrigtwohill did everything but score but overall there were so many positives to take from this game and all the girls should be delighted with their performances.
