Carrigtwohill United Juniors travelled to Camden last Friday night to face a strong Crosshaven side who were unbeaten in the league and sitting a place above us in the table.

Weather conditions were horrendous as the wind and rain drove in off the headland and credit must be given to anyone who turned up to participate or watch this top of the table clash.
The game started at a frantic pace with both sides making their intent clear, closing down space and not giving each other time to settle. 
It was Carrigtwohill who took the lead on 12 minutes when Pat Horgan rose in midfield to power a header forward to release Jason Walsh, the pacy forward left the Crosshaven defence in his wake and cooly slotted past the keeper. 

The visitors had the better of the first half with Ronan Browne and Liam Moore raiding down the right flank at every opportunity, Horgan and Ian Murphy controlled the midfield and this allowed Paul Browne to link up with Walsh up top and Leslie Edwards on the left.
Murphy had a free kick from distance well saved and captain Michael Deasy headed just wide from a P Browne corner. 
Second half and the weather didn't relent but neither did the effort of both sides, Edwards, Murphy and Walsh all had chances to extend the visitors lead but Crosshaven were also creating chances and Carrigtwohill keeper Cillian Murphy was tested a number of times but was equal to any efforts. 
Some determined defending in the last 5 minutes including a goal line clearance by Deasy ensured Carrigtwohill would take the spoils and climb into 2nd place above Crosshaven on goal difference. 
All to play for in this division, well done all.

Man of the match goes to Pat Horgan who was superb in the middle of the park.
