After another yucky week, a lovely bright sunny start to February. It was great day to be out playing football !
Unfortunately, there was no ball kicked at Ballyadam today
Which was very similar to Saturday and the previous weekend, and the weekend before that and the weekend before that ….. No matches in Ballyadam throughout the whole of January. Good riddance to January
I hope that sinks in with us all - there was no playable pitch in Carrigtwohill throughout January. We are one of Ireland’s fastest growing villages but we have a severe lack of facilities - is that okay ?
We have a fantastic new schools complex - but no playing pitches - CCC recently had to play their home Munster semi-final in Cobh - is that okay ?
Our plans for a new Astro pitch at Ballyadam are tantalisingly close to fruition. We have taken 4 years to get to this point and the project is now shovel ready. We need to raise the final 10% of the funds to commence construction.
The new Astro will be a community pitch - for our players, for our schools, for other clubs, for everyone across the whole village.
We are simply volunteers trying to provide an outlet to play sport. You may have children, nephews, nieces, or grandchildren wishing to play sport but can’t- this is a multi-generational project that will be used for years to come and it needs cross-community support.
If this pitch is to be in place for next season, we need to raise the money needed now, not be moaning about cancelled matches again next winter.

Finally, please re-read the first couple paragraphs - if you are okay with the current situation, then please scroll on -
If not, do something about it and help us make the pitch a reality !!
