Under-12 Girls CWSSL Division 3
28th March 2026 at Ballyadam
Carrigtwohill United – 2
Grenagh – 1
A sensational team performance ensured Carrigtwohill came away with all 3 points. It is rare that every player would have their best game of the season on the same day, but that's exactly what happened on Saturday evening in Ballyadam. Proof that hard work and dedication pays off. It was clearly evident that the girls have all been listening at the extra training sessions, as they executed the plays, which they were shown at training, perfectly in the match. Brookes words of wisdom beforehand worked a treat as the girls tore into the match from the first whistle.
Evelyn's kickouts from the hand have become a strong point in helping the team set up attacks and her handling throughout the game was perfect yet again. Aoibhinn had a superb debut at centre back, with her powerful clearances a real addition in helping the team transition up the pitch. Sofia and Amelie were super outside her, with excellent interceptions and clearances and staying alert at all stages. Amelia and Jessica had very strong performances, tackling hard but their passing was very impressive throughout.
Faye, Lilianna and Isabelle in the middle ensured Carrigtwohill stayed on the front foot and broke up play and moved the ball forward. Kaitlin demonstrated strong running and passing ability throughout. Lucy and Saoirse bombarded the opposition goal with some excellent shots and also some great passing and link up play with midfield.
Carrigtwohill went ahead when Saoirse produced a fine first time finish from Lucy's cross. Grenagh made it 1 - 1 with a good finish from a corner. Carrigtwohill bombarded the Grenagh goal and deservedly took the lead late in second half when Kaitlin danced around two players and as two defenders bore down on her at the edge of the box she unleashed a powerful shot which flew in top corner.
All that was left was for the girls to celebrate and for Brooke to play the teams anthem, Free from Desire, as the girls danced around.
