Carrigtwohill United - 2
Mallow town - 1
Report:
Today in what was a blustery afternoon saw Mallow town make the trip to Ballyadam.
Mallow Town proved formidable opposition — strong, physical, and packed with quality. It took us a while to settle, and after 25 minutes we found ourselves 1–0 down from a set piece. We pushed hard for the remainder of the half, and with the wind at our backs found it quite hard to pick out our through balls and really control the game.0-1 at the break.
At halftime, the message was simple: show leadership and belief. We’d been in this position in our last game and it was time for the lads to step up.
The introduction of Fionn Morrissey, Ryan Mathew and JP midway through the first half saw us starting to gain a bit of control. We began to match their physicality and, more importantly, started to play our football — moving the ball through the lines and creating real chances.
With 20 minutes to go, we got ourselves back to 1–1, and from that moment it felt like there was only going to be one winner. Time was ticking, but from a superb move starting at the back, JP fired home into the bottom corner to seal it.
Two cracking and composed finishes on the day, but this was a full team performance — every man played his part.
Luke, Cian ,Callan and Eoghan leading from the back, driving the team forward. Oisín, Zach, Ryan Barry, Odhran — all outstanding. Ryan Matthew, Jack , Eoghan Lombard, JP, Mossie, Paulie— massive contributions across the board.
A fantastic performance and a huge three points on the day..
Carrigtwohill Scorers: JP Geurin
Player of the Match: Jp/Mossie
