Carrigtwohill United B – 1
Blarney United B – 1
First Half
Carrigtwohill United U12B lined out with Tymon Glabisz in goal; a defensive line of James Buckley, Matthew Ruddle, Conor McCarthy, and Jakob Molony; a strong midfield group of Akshay Ashok, Filip Suslo, Ben O’Brien, Colin Ahern, Gabriel Milnarevic, Rayan Alvi, and Glen Mathew; and Aaron Quinlan and Kacper Wajda leading the attack.
Carrig settled well, with James Buckley sharp in the tackle and Matthew Ruddle reading the game superbly to cut out early danger. Conor McCarthy was steady and composed, helping Carrig play out from the back, while Jakob Molony supported well down the right, offering width and making important clearances.
In midfield, Ben O’Brien brought great energy, winning important challenges and helping Carrig regain possession. Akshay Ashok complemented him with his calm passing, helping Carrig move the ball forward with purpose. Colin Ahern and Gabriel Milnarevic worked tirelessly, closing down quickly and putting pressure on Blarney’s midfield. Rayan Alvi linked play cleverly, always looking to get Carrig moving up the pitch.
Carrig’s best chance of the half fell to Glen Mathew, who struck well from inside the box, but the Blarney keeper got down sharply to make a strong save.
Blarney took the lead midway through the half with a long range effort, a strike that left Tymon with little chance. Throughout the half, Tymon Glabisz made numerous saves and showed excellent handling, keeping Carrig firmly in the contest.
Carrig continued to push but went into halftime trailing 1–0.
Second Half
Carrigtwohill came out with real intent after the break. Conor McCarthy continued his strong defensive display, stepping in with key interceptions, while Jakob Molony tracked runners brilliantly and cleared danger down the right. Up front, Aaron Quinlan worked tirelessly, pressing defenders and helping Carrig win the ball high up the pitch.
Once again, Tymon produced several important saves, dealing confidently with everything that came his way and showing superb handling under pressure.
Carrig created a brilliant chance when Glen Mathew made a strong run down the left and squared the ball to Kacper Wajda, who hit it first time and was unlucky to see his effort come back off the post. Kacper continued to threaten throughout the half, always looking to get shots away.
The equaliser arrived shortly after — and it was a superb team moment. Rayan Alvi spotted the run and slipped a perfectly weighted pass through, sending Filip Suslo bursting forward. Filip drove into the box and calmly slipped the ball between the keeper’s legs, levelling the game at 1–1.
In the final minutes, Filip produced almost an identical run again, breaking through the Blarney defence, but this time the keeper reacted superbly to deny him and prevent a dramatic winner.
Carrig pushed right to the end, with Ben, Gabriel, Colin, and Akshay keeping the pressure on in midfield, while Aaron and Kacper continued to stretch the Blarney back line. Despite their efforts, the match finished 1–1 — a fair result after a hard fought contest.
