Carrigtwohill produced a strong all-round performance to secure a deserved 2–0 victory over Lakewood Rangers.

 

Carrig started brightly, creating a number of early half-chances without seriously troubling the Lakewood goal. As the half progressed, the pressure on the Lakewood defence intensified, and Carrig were unlucky not to find the net—denied by a combination of last-ditch defending and sharp goalkeeping.

 

Just before the break, Carrig came closest to scoring. Isabelle drove forward powerfully from midfield but was denied by an excellent save. Moments later, from the resulting kick-out, Hannah collected the ball 40 yards from goal and unleashed a rasping shot that skimmed just past the post. Despite their dominance, it remained 0–0 at half-time.

 

The second half picked up where the first left off, with Carrig continuing to press. The breakthrough finally came when Lauren capitalised on excellent work from Phoebe, picking up the ball on the edge of the box and firing an unstoppable shot into the top corner.

 

Carrig kept pushing forward, with Edel influential in midfield—her composure and passing creating several opportunities for Allie and Phoebe. The second goal eventually arrived when Lauren played a perfectly weighted through ball to the lively Phoebe, who took it in stride, skipped past two defenders, and calmly slotted the ball beyond the advancing goalkeeper.

 

Carrigtwohill controlled the remainder of the game, seeing it out comfortably to secure a hard-fought and well-earned win.
