On a fantastic morning for football, Carrigtwohill 14’s were back in league action after a few weeks. The season is only just beginning, this being our fourth league game since September. Our lads wearing their new kits sponsored by Murnane and O’Shea’s. Thank you to them for their fantastic support. 

 

The surface in Fermoy allowed for great football to be played. It was the home team that started stronger but Carrigtwohill stuck it out and showed great attitude to limit Fermoy to very few chances in the opening 20 minutes. James and Eoin were both very good at the back and this protected our keeper Charlie. Carrigtwohill were ahead after 25 minutes after a fantastic team goal. It started with Dara at the back who passed it to Kacper, his pass to Kai allowed Kai to drive with the ball. Kai’s lovely weighted pass went back to Kacper who stuck the ball first time into the top corner of the Fermoy net. 

We went in 1-0 at the break after a tough first half. 

 

Fermoy went ahead 10 minutes after the break when they scored twice in quick succession. We stayed in the game right up until the end and had half chances to level. On another day, these chances would’ve been more clear cut but our lads move onto the next league game. 10 games still to go in a compacted season with plenty to play for.
