Despite losing in the final, Carrigtwohill took solace from giving Corinthians a scare in first half when we went twice ahead only to concede late in first half to go in the break with scores level.

 

The quality of Corinthians set the 2 teams apart as their ex Cork and Ireland internationals started to prove their experience on the pitch. In the end both teams were in jubilation as Corinthians emerged winners and Carrigtwohill collected the finalist medal. 

 

A record first achievement for Carrigtwohill United Over 35s team that only had 4 or 5 players willing to play at start of the season. Massive recruitment followed with significant signings of Brendan Horgan, ex Cobh Ramblers Nathaniel Gumbo, Liam O'Sullivan, Phil Horan, Junior Sangwa, 50c , Charles Chibuike, James Furlong, and Presley Dube. As a team the lads are all delighted to have reached the Shield Final and a good run of 4 wins in a row towards end of the season
